Nov 28, 2016

A dozen architects rode from Vidhana Soudha to a hundred years old heritage temple at the bottom of Nandi Hills on Sunday, 27th November 2016, as part of the Bengaluru base of the Design Yatra, organized by the Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID).

These artistic motorcyclists will ride through Mangaluru and Manipal before they begin their trip to Goa. This bike ride was among the many events of the yatra, which aims to take design to the masses. Other events included panel discussions with renowned architects and citizens, heritage walking tours around the city, and a sequence of student competitions for “spreading awareness on design in everyday life”, as mentioned by Designer Vijay Kumar.

Najib Mirza, who represented India in the 1996 Olympics as part of the Judo team, flagged off the bike ride which was escorted by four Nanos that were also part of the creative journey across the country.
