Rera Website Gets Over 15 Thousand Complaints On The First Day Of Launch In Uttar Pradesh

Since the official launch of the RERA website in Lucknow by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the website had over 15 thousand complaints before the end of the day. According to the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association, the constant complaints blocked even the real estate developers to log in. The UP government has further diluted the clause by exempting projects prior to the law and even those who have received their licenses and clearances. Hence, effectively putting into place a system that can leave home buyers in a lurch as the real estate developers do not comply with the new rule. Clauses related to penalty have also been diluted.

Seoul-based startup, Urbanbase who has virtual reality tools for interior design and planning is soon to expand its reach. It recently received around $ 1.8 million in a Series A funding. With a large customer base already in Korea, it plans to expand in the South East Asian market to countries like Japan and China. Providing 2D plans to change to virtual spaces in minutes, it offers customers a cheaper option as compared to cameras like Matterport. They are currently in over 40 partnerships with more than 4,000 items available on their platform. The founder and former architect, Jinu Ha also plan to launch smart phone applications in augmented reality tools for interior planning. 

Roomba Plans To Sell Maps Of People's Homes

Roomba’s robot vacuum cleaner uses mapping technology to clean the user’s home. This technology maps the floor plan of the home to understand the entry of dust into the space. The company now plans to sell this data to Google, Apple and Amazon. In a bid to help these companies understand floor plans while designing connected smart home devices which can tell about the size of the room, the type of furniture, the furniture location among other details. Roomba's terms of service currently give the company permission to share customer data with third party vendors and subsidiaries. Given the current terms, Roomba could sell user information in bulk without notifying customers. Though at the moment, the company asks for user consent before sharing information with advertisers. Roomba could start sharing the map data with tech giants within the next couple of years, according to report by Reuters.
