The Swarovski Designers of the Future Award by Swarovski and Design Miami/Basel this year was announced at Milan and was bagged by three young designers in the field of Product Architecture, Technology and Design.
Jimenez Lai of Bureau Spectacular uses concepts of sociology and psychology like relationships, attitudes, history, etc and shapes them into architectural installations.
Marjan van Aubel, based out of London works largely with solar powered technology by combining scientific technology and chemistry. She has invented materials like foam porcelain and even solar cells.
Takt Project based out of Tokyo was founded by Atsushi Honda, Yoshitaka Ito, Satoshi Yoshiizumi, and Takeshi Miyazaki. They have invented ways to perceive the ordinary with a new approach. They invent and use 3-D components and special additions to customise daily objects.
The designs are to be unveiled during the Miami/Basel 2017 with a novel approach. Their designs will be displayed in a single installation set to coexist with the designs of the other awardees. The recipients will be given special access to the company’s diamond archives and laboratories in Austria to come up with their new ideas for the Miami Design Week.
