Brik Tile is a Lego compatible tile for wall applications. Consisting of an adhesive on the behind, it can be stuck to any wall. These tiles work with Lego and even Maga Bloks. Bret Miller and David Dripps are the two California-based entrepreneurs behind it. A 10 by 10 tile kit sells for approximately $40 on Amazon. 

Staywell Hospitality Group To Launch Leisure Inn Shrey, Jodhpur

Staywell Hospitality Group, an Australian Hospitality company is to launch their fifth hotel in Jodhpur called the Leisure Inn Shrey. The hotel will feature 51 rooms and a vegetarian restaurant. Stull underway is a bar on the ground level and a rooftop restaurant. This hotel is their fifth project in India so far and they are expanding rigorously. A Park Regis in Visakhapatnam and a Leisure Inn Service Apartments in Gurugram by the group are soon to go operational by September 2017 and January 2018 respectively.

The Government Musem In Banglore To Receive A Major Facelift Internally

The Government Museum situated at Kasturba Road in Banglore is to undergo a major renovation internally. The museum was shifted to the structure in 1877 and recently had renovations done to its exteriors to mark the 150th anniversary. The dull lights, fading wall paint, chipped roofs are seriously damaging the historic treasures this museum holds. This museum holds some of the most Kannada scripts and artefacts like heirlooms and collectables of the ancient palaces of the state. The renovations will be carried out at an estimated costs of Rs 1 crore.

Renders Of The Second Residential Building In Hudson Yards Revealed

Renders of One Hudson Yards, the second residential building in the Hudson Yards has been revealed. The 38 storey building will have 178 apartments. Some of the amenities include an 82-foot-long pool, bowling alley, games lounge, fitness centre, spa, penthouse lounge, etc among others.The building will have a red stone and glass facade. The structure is designed by Davis Brody Bond, with interiors by Andre Kikoski Architect. Other iconic structures in progress in the area are The Shed and the Vessel.

 

World’s Largest Cushion To Be Presented At Heimtextil India And Ambiente India 2017

Heimtextil India and Ambiente India will host the world’s largest cushion in 2017. D’Decor partners with Kanika Bawa, a Limca record holder to reach this record-breaking feat. The cushion will be 20 ft tall and will have Fabrics and Embroideries of India on it. The exhibit will be called the CushionKari and will have a design to celebrate the congruence between man and woman as in the DaVinci painting. She will also incorporate the harmony of nature in her design by putting together the 5 Vedic elements of water, air, fire, earth and space.

The app gives you a better sense of direction of the type of decor pieces one would want to fit in their homes. Once the user chooses the furniture, the app also redirects you to the website where the user can purchase it. The app has now only been rolled out for the iOS system. 

Nice Architects Develop A Self-sustaining Home

Slovakian firm Nice Architects has developed a transportable, hotel-like comfort in a micro home made specifically for off-grid living. The home is self-sustainable and has solar panels as well as an integrated wind turbine for energy consumption needs. Called the ‘Ecocapsule’, the floor plan is compact yet not cramped. The design accommodates a bedroom, kitchen, dining area and a bathroom. The material had to undergo rigorous testing with seismic, fire and acoustic safety requirements to be approved.

 The Framework Building, designed by Lever Architecture received permission to build a tower completely of wood, making it the first and only all timber tower to be approved in the USA. The 12-storey building in Portland, Oregon is unique in its materials that compose cross-laminated timber and glue-laminated timber. The architects claim that wood is wood is taking over from steel and concrete in the building industry. The material had to undergo rigorous testing with seismic, fire and acoustic safety requirements.
